Can Autistic People Drive

Homo demens

Pulp Fiction

Written jointly by the poet Franco Salcedo and the narrator Mariano Vargas (both graduates of the PUCP) novel Homo demens (Estruendomudo) is surely one of the most unorthodox literary proposals and controversial 2010. It tells the fictional dismemberment of the famous historian and sociologist Nelson Manrique, allegedly occurred on October 29, 1994, and the subsequent fate of the main suspect, Dr. Armando Vargas.

Violent and hallucinating, in the manner of Robert Rodriguez films (more than the aforementioned Quentin Tarantino), this novel is raised just like a movie: from the short sequences that integrate to the curious "division" final in which people are told what "real" characters are based. To this must be added including full pages of newspapers and radio news pieces and television.

Salcedo Vargas & have tried and given us a different version-questioning, poetic and ironic that the crimes were often committed in the years of political violence, questioning the way some of the most characteristic elements of the "Peru" of our time, but only managed to do so in a few episodes of this short novel (86 pages). Homo demens is, therefore, as a somewhat irregular work, an interesting project that deserved a wider development.

Demonstrat Men Masterbation

's death a bourgeois

Two solid conceptual poems - and boxers Mariners (2003) and trophies Fragile (2007) - converted to writer and journalist Jerome Pimentel (Lima, 1978) in a major voices called poetic generation post 2000. Leaving the thematic and formal rigidities, Pimentel now gives us Death of a bourgeois (AUB, 2010), a collection of 25 poems very diverse, ranging from childhood memories to the metaphysical reflections.

What unifies these texts is that revolve around training and beliefs of a middle-class Lima, not migrants, but the former emerging bourgeoisie, now in decline (hence the title of the book.) Memories of Sacred Heart College, or the Miraflores streets "Ocharán / Ferre / Churches" in memory of a man today "no work / no future / no dreams / no prospects" and feels "Nostalgia for the absolute" "Do not know if I believe in God. / I atomic force / that unites us and gives way .... "

Pimentel said recently: "I do not know if the unit of assessment in poetry is the verse or poem ... but I do know is that it is the poetry collection." Thus, unlike his previous books, The Death of a bourgeois is more focused on the quality of the texts themselves that the whole structure. The result is a good collection of poems, most personal and autobiographical, showing other aspects of literary production Pimentel.

Where To Look For Scarf Valances

House, Alma

The critical Camilo Fernández (Lima, 1965) is doing for the last 20 years, a systematic study of the work of major poets Peruvians twentieth century. This work began with the book The strange islands of Emilio A. Westphalen and has continued with books on George E. Eielson (1996), Rodolfo Hinojosa (2001) and José Watanabe (2009). They now joins House, body. Blanca Varela's poetry in the mirror (USIL, 2010).

Fernandez has been consolidating a personal critical method, that some of the more recent proposals by the General Textual Rhetoric, but that does not leave out the context (trends in the years Peruvian poetry 50), background, or the detailed statement of the issue. From this, we analyze here a series of poems by Varela: "Puerto Supe", "The Observer", "The place under the tree, "among others.

"Method Fernández" demonstrates its effectiveness and reach correctly interpret some recurring elements in this poem: the houses, the metaphors that refer to the mutilation and death. However, the evaluation of the whole, the critic repeats in House, body. The poetry of Blanca Varela ... almost verbatim what we said in Myth, body and modernity (2009) on the poetry of José Watanabe.

How To Prevent New Shoes From Crease

seaweed body

With three good novels published - Will molle (2006), do not forget our names (2009) and Blood, dust the snow (2010) - and important literary prizes (the most recent National Fiction Prize 2010 Federico Villarreal ) Karina Pacheco has already become one of Peru's most interesting writers today. Something that is fully confirmed by his first book of short stories, Alma alga (Draft, 2010).

of the extensive family sagas and historical processes of his novels, Pacheco (Ph.D. in Anthropology) passed on this occasion and synthetic symbolic myths. And the myths will reach the fantastic, so conducive to the story and here always approached with a certain poetic inspiration. When these elements are combined texts are achieved as good as "The Fiddler of the mountains," a cosmological version of The Pied Piper of Hamelin, or "Soul alga" love story tinged with Cortazarian.

There are other records in the twelve stories in this book: the intimacy of " Murder" and "Revenge", or the allegation of "Between the shadow and the sun" and "Morning in Babel." And while some texts are perhaps too "fictional" ("De the dark days, "" The Hat "), Alma algae returns to show us Pacheco as a thoughtful and effective storyteller, whether it story" atmosphere "or to recount violent and intense events.
